April 2010 - Pajama Day

Today was “pajama day” at Harrison Township School.  I don’t remember ever getting to go to school in my PJ’s.

let's play ball

Connor had games one and two of his first baseball season and he's loving it. He's playing coach's pitch and will have two to three games per week until the first week in June. Here are a few pics and a video from his first game.

camryn counts to ten...almost

Camryn can count to ten so I tried to get it on video several times. As with many things the kids do, she did it perfectly, willingly, repeatedly and clearly several times...until I got the camera. This isn't too bad though considering these performances do usually totally fall apart once I get the camera. Here she is counting to nine.

emily goes to school

Well actually, no she doesn’t.  But pretty much everyday she tells me something that happened at school, usually something a boy or girl said or did.  This is what she told me today:

“Mom, a boy at school said to me today, nanny nanny boo boo you don’t like Batman.  And I said, yes I do, I do like Batman.  And he said, no you don’t.  And I said, yes I do!  Yes I do!  And he said, no you don’t.  And then I tackled him.”

basket hunt

April 2010 - Easter Baskets

Ever since Connor’s second Easter, when he was 16 months old, we’ve done an egg hunt. The Easter Bunny leaves the eggs and the kids need to find them in order to find their baskets. The first egg is left in the upstairs hallway, just outside their bedrooms. In each egg is a picture of the next location. This is all Connor talks about for days leading up to Easter, even more than the actual baskets. This year, Emily was also excited about finding the eggs that would lead to their baskets. And Camryn was right there with them, but was more interested in the actual eggs then the pictures inside and going to the next location. I took video of the hunt this year...actually two videos because due to a problem with the memory in the camera, I had to restart just as they were at the last egg that would lead them to their baskets. The first video ended up being about 8 minutes long and wouldn't upload here (you're saying thank goodness because who, other than me, wants to watch an 8 minute long video of my kids hunting for Easter eggs right?) The second video did upload and it's only about 1 minute...kind of a tease because watching it, you really can't get the full effect of the awesome egg hunt. It's only the last egg, which lead them to the place where the baskets were hidden. Take it from me though, the entire hunt was tons of fun. I'm sure this little clip will leave you wanting more. ;)
